Planning The Perfect (or near perfect) Wedding or Bar/Bat Mitzvah?

Just ask anyone you know who recently planned a wedding or a Bar/Bat Mitzvah and they will tell you the hundreds of hours they spent over a year or two period of time to get it as close to perfect as possible.

The bad news is, no event will ever come off perfectly as long as human error is a part of it. There will always be slight or even large scale problems that will bearise out of anyones control such as weather or other natural disasters. One thing is for sure, the more planning and event pre-production there is, the better the chances that you will be leaving the large majority of decision making outside of your expertise to available experienced, proven professionals with extensive track records.

What are some of the major decisions you need to make to create just the right and successful event? The event or wedding planner is very important. If there is anyway you van afford an experienced and popular event planner, they will be the most valuable member of your team.

Previous experiences cannot be replaced when it comes to trusting others with your very special event. Some successful and busy vendors, venues and event planners need to be booked a year or more in advance. Photographers, videographers, entertainment and party decorators should be booked anywhere from six months to a year in advance to guarantee you have the right professional at work for you.

One surprising choice that some overlook is whether to have a photographer and videographer at the event. When asked, I have had several surprising responses to those who did not think video was important. Most recently, I was told that phones take video. Another I heard was, I was just not that into the event. Another was, I did not think it was worth the money or the event was going to be a small one.

No matter what the size event, as someone who remembered his Bar Mitzvah very vividly, I can tell you that this event in THE most unique in a lifetime. The reason is, you may get married once, twice or more times, but each time you will share the "stage" with your mate. At a Bat/Bar Mitzvah, you alone as a young adult are celebrated. You are the center of attention. This may never happen again where friends and family come from all over the world to celebrate your life.

Professional photographs are very important and necessary. I have been a professional photographer since 1998 and know this to be true. After working as a broadcast video journalist for many years, it became very apparent that nothing records the complete experience or compares to the excitement, celebration, exurberance that a video captures at an event.

Not only does a professionally shot video capture all the details for years or decades to come, it also does it in a way that allows friends and family hundreds to thousands of miles away who could not attend your special occasion, be a part of it like no other way.
